R S L Plato

Freemasonry in Athens, Greece, for women and men. We work in English, in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.

Let no one ignorant of geometry enter.

  1. Take a square. Its side is two feet. Its area is four.
  2. Double the side. The area is not double. It is four times as big: sixteen.
  3. Draw the diagonals. Each one cuts a square in half. Four of them meet in a new square.
  4. The diagonal gives the double. The new square holds four halves: eight. Socrates led a slave boy to this proof in the Meno.

We took the name and the demand

Tradition places these words above the door of Plato’s Academy. We took the name of the Academy and its first demand: measure with care before you build.

A lodge in the east of Athens

R S L Plato Nr. 2010 was founded on 23 February 2006. It works the three symbolic degrees: Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason.

The Temple of Hephaestus above the Ancient Agora of Athens.

We meet to study, to talk and to improve ourselves. Women and men sit together as equals. We ask every member to bring a question, not a verdict.
